Involvement in Canadian soccer

Karsten von Wersebe brought with him from Europe a deep love for the sport of soccer.  Although in 1980 soccer’s entry into the North American market was still embryonic, Mr. von Wersebe purchased an interest in the Toronto Blizzard Soccer Club and became its Chairman as well as a director of the North American Soccer League (NASL).  He also occupied several positions within the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA). 

The Toronto Blizzard Soccer Club later joined the American Professional Soccer League (APSL) and the Canadian Soccer League (CSL).  The club was well integrated into diverse soccer programs in the Ontario market and Mr. von Wersebe is recognized as a pioneer in the development of the sport of soccer in Canada.
